Why Google for Education is being used by 1000 South African schools

Nikki Bush, a parenting expert from South Africa, writes: Google for Education provides Google apps and tools to schools for free. Google’s suite of educational apps and tools are easy and simple to use and over 1 000 schools in South Africa are already registered users, reinventing what it means to teach and learn today.

Google provides connectivity across all devices. Collaboration and communication between educators, learners and parents enables them to connect more efficiently, share resources and save both time and money. Watch the Classroom 101 video below for a quick snapshot of how easy it is to use Google as a teacher.

With regard to connectivity and electricity there is an online and offline feature which enables schools to continue to operate in the event of a power cut. If connectivity goes down you can still access the last 50 documents and as soon as you are online again everything syncs with the cloud.
