The SA Book Fair 2015 is taking place at the Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg, on 31 July to 2 August, 2015. Renowned motivational speaker, Nikki Bush, will be speaking in the Anglo Auditorium on Sunday, 2 August from 10:00am to 11:00am.
Nikki will be discussing “Tech-Savvy Parenting” and the presentation is ideal for parents, teachers or anyone else who is helping raise today’s children.
What is tech savvy parenting all about?
Today’s parents need to be aware of the impact of the internet, social media and other digital platforms on their children. During the presentation, Nikki will talk about what’s happening in the digital space and how you can ensure your children are safe and savvy in this fast-changing, information-driven world. She will guide you through the potential dangers and opportunities that technology offers and guide you through the terminology the children of today use.
Families need to stay connected, but today this happens not only offline but online as well as. While globalisation and the internet era offer many opportunities to today’s children, they need to be aware of the potential pitfalls. This talk will help you raise digitally responsible children and explain how you can bridge the digital divide between you and your kids by understanding the terminology, platforms and how technology is changing the way young people communicate.
